Sad to say but many so-called Renault techs I have met don't even seem to know they exist (galllery and ports). Generally they just take the valve out give it a clean and stick it back in and if that don't work fit a new one. That will fix it for a while until the carbon deposits move and jam it again. I appreciate it can take a bit of time to clean properly and considering their hourly rates a new valve is probably the cheapest option but in many cases just doesn't seem a lasting solution.
