There is not hole for the pin,the crank locking pin actually screws into the thread that the blanking plug comes out of.The pin is a certain length and the crank just sits up against it and isn't physically locked in place,it will still turn backwards even with the pin in.
I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
