A timing chain failing = ££££
A cam belt failing (more likely) = ££££
either way your screwed!
Uhm no,not quite.
If a cambelt breaks it usually just bends valves....
If a chain breaks it gets wrapped around everything in sight and you'll need a new engine.
Belts are easier to digest in an engine than chains.
I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
