Chain if I could. Yes deffo the next car will be a 3cyl vauxhall Corsa 12v (chain driven)

Now, so I have heard many of the Family II Vauxhall/Opel/GM (delete as appropriate) engine have a weak point in the valve rockers. In the event that the cam belt breaks then in theory the piston hitting the valve will not bend the valve, but instead break the rocker above, saving on more costly repairs. Nice idea... Tigz is right though the SEH lumps were non-interference, as were many other 1980's and very early 90's GM engines. Why the manufacturers today don't use such designs is mad. Though they make money on the engine rebuild costs maybe?!?!?
