In my case the safety catch failed, now, I'm no petrol head, but i look after my car, i have it serviced at least twice a year by renault and i check it on a regular basis. I'd say i was a very typical clio owner. how many people do you know that check the safety catch of their bonnet?- is this not down to the garage? In the fear of sounding like a girl, if i was not aware that it was something i should look for - why would i?
