Obviously, you do need third party insurance as a minimum, as you said, and you must ensure that the car is road legal to the best of your knowledge (i.e. saying you're on the way to an MOT won't get you off the hook for having bald tyres, 'cause that's obvious.)
I presume it has to be this way to allow not-yet-registered kit cars to attend their first MOTs...?
The bit in bold Az, how do you get them changed if your car has no MOT and you obviously can't get to one as you wouldn't be able to drive it with bald tyres and it isn't exactly a job you could do.
