Moved to electronics (as that's the root cause of these symptoms).

I would agree regarding a warranty - I have one on my car supplied by and have 3 years cover (with a 2500 claim limit per claim) for 500.

Check when comparing whether they are inclusion (i.e. they cover all items except for or if they are exclusion (i.e. they list they items they don't cover) - also you want a warranty which covers you for repairs at a main dealer as well as any garage (you don't want to have the inconvenience of a fault noted at your servicing garage, then having to take it somewhere else for the repair), also, ensure it is one whereby you don't need to pay up front, and claim the cost back.

Hope this has just been a rough patch with what is a popular car, and that good motoring lies ahead.
