I'm afraid that I don't believe that Renault are the only manufacturer with this sort of problem. The Internet is full of single-make forums like RenaultForums which all thrive on problem solving. To suggest that the front end of Renaults is designed to squeeze more money out of UK customers is a political decision is, frankly, laughable
The first car I had experience of that required the dealer to fit replacement bulbs was my colleagues V40, and that was in the 90s. Add to that that the French buy *huge* numbers of their own products makes it sound pretty implausible, unless you are suggesting that they have an extra difficult front end put on for the UK market?
I do, however, agree that cars (not just Renaults) are becoming too complex. Key cards, keyless start and other "innovations" are all far too prone to unreliability. But, this is NOT a Renault-only problem
