IF the cambelt turns the waterpump, You should ALWAYS change it with the cambelt.

A newly tensioned cam belt will put more stress on the waterpump and wear it sooner. The bearings wonlt last forever and it also means you KNOW its ok.

Water pump failing will always (if powered by the cam belt) require another new belt and possibly tensioner.

But as Delta has found out, Some garages can do cam belts on saffs for sensible money
