Question Renault Laguna II - Rear disk hub nut

I am led to believe that you need a 36mm hub nut to remove the rear disk including bearing. I need to change the rear disks and pads and can get disc with bearing for 55. However I was told that a normal 36mm socket is too big, does anyone know where I can can a socket that will fit and not cost the earth?
