I know it is the ballasts that have gone, they went one at a time and from what I understand it is caused by wet ! Due to our wonderful summer I have had enough of ballasts and wetness !
I found a place on the internet a few months ago that sold the complete lamp with loom adaptor to allow the change back to standard lights but forgot who they were and now cant find them again ! I think they were Birmingham based.
I dont really rate the Xenons on the Laguna, they are a bit brighter but as they are not the "focussed" type they tend not do be very much better than halogen. Long term, it would save a few quid to change. Also I can then sell the Xenon units on E-Bay !

To my knowlage the actual wiring loom conects are the same as the difference is at the ballest and you could just by some hallogen lights and fit them.
The lights are fairly straight forward to swap though you do have to remove the bumper to do so and that takes time.

The newer xenons have a seal on the ballest to stop water ingress. Did the replacement one you fit have this?
