Assuming it's a Lag 1 with the IR system, it's in the roof console ahead of the lights - you can pop the IR receiver off the front fairly easily - it slides toward the windscreen, though you may need something to lever it off, then have a look at the PCB underneath and check the connections and make sure it's not full of water. I presume the receiver is in the same place on cars with the later RF system, and the same fixes apply, though I don't have any personal experience of that one.

If its full of water, it could be either the sunroof drains blocked (if your car has one) or the radio aerial, which is easily removed and re-sealed with silicone sealant.
