Renault Megane - 1.9Dci Fuel Pump Wiring Question

My megane 19 DCI won't start after an engine change and I have isolated the problem (I think) but need it confirming incase I am barking up the wrong tree.

The low pressure fuel pump is running fine but the high pressure pump output to the common rail is absolutely nothing at all so either the solenoid valve or the electrics that run it are faulty.

I have established that the fuel pump solenoid is fed 12v which is switched by the key and its coil is about 4 ohms in value. The output of the solenoid is pulsed to earth (a square wave) I assume by the ECU . I have tried tagging it to earth so it is permanently energised but still no fuel output.

I think the solenoid vavle is jammed and if so I can swap the original pump over but I may be misunderstanding how the soleniod is run. It is strange that the pump ran fine last week in the original car but I guess everything fails eventually.

Any comments appreciated..........
