I'm not sure about the torque figure, but looking at the power figures, I suspect Renault have gone for the age old trick of quoting the PS figure as BHP.
PS is, of course, an excellent way of getting more power from your engine without spending extra money. Forget induction kits and exhaust systems, simply quote the PS figure instead of BHP. Most people accept that they're close enough together to be more or less interchangeable, but you get an extra few 'horses' for absolutely nothing.
Maybe they should rename PS to BS
A less cynical interpretation would be that PSA did their own
software for the same lump, giving it subtly different performance characteristics. If the
's were the same, then maybe it was just down to variations in the units that they actually tested.
Though I'm more inclined to believe my first theory.
