check the indicator stalk wiring as the design by nature weakens the solder joint. It means removing the bottom plastic cover under teh steering wheel with 3 screws. Once undone the wiring on the switch can be clearly seen.
A friend of mine had the exact same symptoms which is why I think the switch wiring is at fault ;-)
