I would agree Ottoman filtering only removes the solids it's what may be dissolved in used veggie oil would concern me more. Even centrifugal filtering won't remove disolved chemicals.
It may be the cost of fresh veggie oil is no longer a viable option as it appears world prices for such oils is increasing faster than crude oils. From what I know veggie oil won't give the same mpg so in fact it may be more expensive in the long run. Never mind the risk of pump or engine damage and then theres the environmental aspects to consider as well.
