I would say on a long run you should be getting between 40 and 45mpg
IIRC, my 2.0
would struggle to achieve high 40's sitting at a steady 56 and drafting an HGV. At the higher speed and without the aerodynamic advantage of sitting in a large vehicle's wake, I'd say high 30s was more realistic to be honest.
29mpg was my typical motorway average. Then again, I did tend to cruise at 80 where possible.
