The trim can be repainted (there are plastic paints available to smart repairers), but its a job easiest done if you can remove the trim, otherwise there's a lot of masking off to do.
As a cheap & cheerful quick fix, if you have an old
-soaked rag - rub that over the trim and it will give a good, fairly long-lasting lustre.
Failing that (and don't laugh), shoe polish would also work as its a wax-based colourant.
Again, these are only temporary measures - not repairs.
This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.
