If it as good as they say it is and seems to be quite cheap you wonder why manufacturers haven't installed such an item during manufacture or maybe it would hurt repair workshops and breakdown services. A simple photo-electric cell under any fuel cap would be sifficient to trigger a similar device.
I'm a little wary of having anything electrical right next to the fuel filler, even on a diesel. What if it malfunctions and produces a spark?
A simple mechanical solution is the best answer. I thought I'd made my millions when I designed such a contraption (well scribbled it on the back of an envelope.) Then I discovered that some Land Rover models already have this fitted.
