Thanks Ottoman. Wasn't sure if i was in the right place?
Just been having a read through other threads and realised i had forgotten to mention about the dreaded bonnet catch issue. How can i make sure this will never happen (Bonnet fly open on the motorway!)?? The person i bought the car off said that the car had been taken to a renault dealer to check if the car needed the recall item and was told the car had the revised part fitted.. Trouble is, i wouldn't trust a dealers judgement as far as i could throw the judge from the dealer...
My GF is a great driver but i wouldn't want to test her driving skills by overlooking this issue.
Thanks in advance of any advice offered.
Cant really help you with the problems you mentioned above but as for the bonnet catch, keep the moving parts well lubricated. Inspecting it often to make sure nothing has ceased or started to rust badly should save you from the dreaded. Its not so much of a design problem with the catch its more a lack of maintainance thats the problem.
