Oh Jeez - that's not great.

It probably can be re-threaded, but I would seriously question who should be paying for it?

I'm pretty sure they will have some liability insurance regarding damage caused to a customer's car.

You see, if it can't be re-worked, it will need replaced, which is why I'd be heading straight down there to speak with the manager - they may have a local garage who they have an 'arrangement' with to deal with these sorts of things - but, as is usually the case in life - its the wheel which squeeks the loudest, which receives the most oil .

Be polite, but stand your ground - you don't want to be driving around with a car in this status, as any play will also in all likelihood create extra stress on the bearings.
