'Olidish' Mercedeesesees are probably more reliable then most modern cars out there,but 'newish' Mercedes are pretty awful as are the dealers.The only way is up,although moving to a Renault is a gamble.
As Horatio says,avoid all 1.9dCi's.....the 2.2 is good but not great,the 1.8 petrol is slllloooowwww.....the 2 litre 16 valve with variable valve timing is OK(avoid the
at all costs....
),the V6 is a peach but is expensive to run.I don't know anything about the 2 litre dCi,but if Horatio says their OK,then thats fine by me.
Remember,if it's too cheap is not a bargain,it's a problem.The Lag 2 fits into this catergory unfortunately,but if you buy carefully you'll be very pleased with one.There are good ones out there,you just need to know what to look for and what to avoid.
