Question Replacement key fob

Hello all,

My first post here! Recently bought a Clio Mk2 Phase 2 2002for my daughter that came with only 1 key (she's already locked it in the boot, together with the dog ). I'm terrified that she will lose it or it will pack up.

Having scoured the net and this forum, I haven't found a definitive answer as to whether there is an alternative to forking out 125 for a new one from a Renault main dealer. I could buy a used one from eBay for a few , but is it possible to reprogram the key/the car? It would seem the central locking is not too difficult (or essential) but not much good if the immobiliser doesn't work!

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!!
