just wondered if any one could help me. my haeter does not work on my laguna 1996 2.2 td. ive been told it might be the matrix block. any sugestions please and how would i unblock the matrix? thank you
I bought a Renault Laguna once and had the Heater Matrix fixed before I got it. It was said to cost around £230.00 but if it was the air con model it would have been £800???
It was makeing a bubling sound if this helps and there was no heat
I bought a Laguna 2L RT 1997 yesterday (I had a great 96 Automatic but it was going to cost too much for MOT).
On the way home the heating fan went
Anyone got any ideas what it could be?
I had a quick look at the dash board to see if I could behind but it doesn't look easy to get to and I wouldn't really know what to look for if I got there
if the fan was working & blower stopped suddenly then i would think its the resistor pack or possibly a fuse, not sure where the resistor pack isbut this happened to me with a mondeo & it only cost £8 from a dealer....fingers crossed
Thx for getting back to me. I found another thread on here re a similar problem and that mentioned the resistor pack too. I took out the fan today and checked the power cable that goes to it - works fine on a bulb. I also tried the fan on a 12v battery charger and it didn't work so I'm assuming it's the fan.
Unless I'm being totally naive? (does a battery charger have enough oomph to run a heater fan?). I'll try it off the battery tomorrow to be sure
The problem now is finding a second hand fan! I went over to a breakers today as they had a few 94-97 Lagunas in but they all had a different fan set up to me (the one model with the deep glove box. Mine has a smaller glove box and a different fan mounting)
Anyone know where I can get a fan in the Keighley/Bradford area?
