Laguna 1 - air con not working (plus a vent problem)

First off - the fan only works on speed 4, so I'll be doing the fix listed here (excellent work, I haven't done anything like that since my student days!).

However the air con doesn't appear to be working at that speed.

I'll be replacing the pollen filter which may help the system (doubt its ever been changed), but should the a/c work with the fan at full blast?

**edit** - I forgot about the vent problem! The vent on the drivers door doesn't open - you can stick a finger in there to open it up (awkward when driving!), obviously the mechanism is broken between the switch and the flap inside. Is this an easy/awkward/impossible fix?

You won't get the full effect of the aircon with the fan on a high speed, but you should notice some difference.

Can you hear the compressor clutch cutting in and out?.If not the system might have gone out on low pressure and it needs a regas.:)

Only picked up the car last night, haven't had much of a chance to check, but will do.

Right royal p.i.t.a though, having gone from a BMW where everything worked, to a Renault, that whilst its nice to drive, seems to be a little, er, awkward. hey ho, thats family life!
