Laguna 2 - A/C not working

I have a laguna 2, initiale, 16v ide, 03 plate.

The red a/c light comes on fine and the climate controls work as expected. Only problem is that there is that the a/c is not working in that the air does not get cold as it should.

I have had a a/c gas recharge just done by Kwik-fit but this has not solved my problem.

Is there a relay switch or something? If so please let me know (in baby language) where it is located and how to change. Or any other ideas how best to proceed?

Sounds like for whatever reason the compresor clutch isn't engaging when the air-con is switched on. This may be due to either an electrical or mechanical problem. Problems I have came across in the past . A poor or broken earth wire at the compressor electrical plug - one other is a failed pressure switch on the consensor and also it is known for the wiring to this switch to fail as it tends to get a battering from road salt A good air-con specialist should be able to trace the exact cause.:)

Re: Laguna 2 - A/C not working - fixed

Thanks to both of you, I have managed to get my a/c working again. Not exactly sure how though.

I found a wire and it seemed okay. Could not find a switch on the compressor. I manually turned the wheel on the compressor by hand and sprayed some WD40 on it also.

It started working after that. I am not 100% sure if I did something or just that it was a little warmer today and the ac truly kicked in.

Nevertheless thanks to both Steviei13 and Madnoel10 for allowing me to diagnose the fault.

Could be the compressor clutch was sticking and a nudge and some lubricating has coaxed it back into life. Regardless of the weather it is advisable to switch the air-con at least once every week just to keep it in good nick. Also remember the refrigerant has a lubricant added so keeping it circulating helps a lot.:)
