I have a 2002 clio 2. when heater blower is put on after car has been standing for a time it sounds as if the fan is blowing whilst in a bowl of water(splashing sound). I took the car on a test drive and the noise dissappeared but all of the right hand side of the front and rear footwells was soaked with water( i must have removed 2 or 3 gallons of water. How has this happened and what is the cure.

Not sure were they are on your car but were the air goes into the heater down the front of the screen is a trough that fills with water it as drains these block and the water then gets into the car.

The drainage pipe is at the rear of the engine close to the bulkhead. It has a rubber flap on it which i cleared. The problem is not with this pipe. It seems to be draining into the footwell on the drivers side. is there another drainage pipe or outlet close to the right front wing? if so where can it be accessed from.?

On mine there are pipes each side they come out nr were the wheel arch meets the sill but I thought they just drained the sun roof but it may be worth a look

Thanks for that. I have just spent a couple of hours on it and have found the water on the drivers side coming out a lot slower than the passenger side. it comes out about 6 ins in from the sill. I think i will have to get the car on a ramp and see if it is blocked. Many thanks again.:d
