No I've not tried that yet.... although I suspect they would probably know that it was an empty threat as that would leave me without any transport.
But thanks to everyone for their advice I'm willing to give anything a go.
I've escalated my complaint to the general manager, I'm contacting the Office of Fair trading and if all that doesn't work I'll ask for a full refund.
It's not the kind of treatment you expect from a professional Renault garage, if I'd bought it from some dodgy second hand car dealer I probably wouldn't be so annoyed!
