I have had the same experience as V Satis - I took the plunge and bought a replacement off an
company with good reputation (probably the same as V Satis used, looking at the price) and they arrived promptly. They are different from existing, but look much stronger (pulley instead of a clip, thicker cable, etc). They went on with no real difficulty, and again some minor re-wiring due to a different type of motor socket (but alternative socket was supplied). Job done, and I can now have fresh air again!
... next on the list is a dodgy windscreen washer....
