It is not recommended to use washing up liquid as eventually it eats away at the pump seals, etc. Essentially such liquid is a petro-chemical which doesn't particularly like plastic or rubber.
In that case it looks increasingly like a duff pump. I think I'll try to get the bumper off at the weekend to make sure and then get one ordered if it doesn't turn with direct power.

Has anyone bought one recently? Am I likely to cry when I hear how much?
