The diesel additives that you pure into the tank or straight into the system just raise the burn temperature in the cylinder,so they can clean up the emissions for a short time (i.e around MOT time),but on the whole they cause more bad than good.I suspect that the additives on the 'premium' fuels do the same,just at a slower rate.
I'm very wary of petrol additives,but then that is my personal opinion.Some people swear by them,some swear at them.
I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
