Hi, that would seem to be the most likely thing to me as well.
Problem is.. I cant imagine removing the instrument binnacle is that easy is it? Having looked at pictures of the part on
etc, it seems to be a solid unit with 3 fixed connector blocks on the back.
Anyone have any idea how to remove it? I dont have a Haynes and cant even find one new enough for my year (it says up until 2005)
I am fairly handy with a soldering iron and examing PCB etc, so if I could remove it, I could have a look for the usual dry joint culprits etc.
Also, what are the ramifications of removing the binnacle? These Renaults seem very picky about anything electrical, reading other peoples threads on simply replacing their batttery rendering the car dead doesn't inspire confidence!
