If it's just the mast that is snapped it might be possible to unscrew it from the base,but they do have a tendency to corrode together making them difficult to remove,especially if you just a small part of it left.
You may have to replace the base as well and I suspect you'll have to drop the back of the headlining to access the fixings for it.
I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
