sensor will be located on the right hand side of the engine just above the gearbox bellhousing. It will look like a boomerang shaped bit of metal with a electrical connection going it and two 10mm bolts holding it on.

Undo the bolts and clean the surfaces of metal filings. It needs to be shiny too, so it may need rubbing with sandpaper a bit.
A new one isnt much from Renault, probs £30. Try cleaning it first though.
