Hello,

I have a 242,000 mlie 1991 Mk1 Espace that has a rather tired interior with some thread bare seats. I was wondering, do the seats from later marks of Espace fit Mk1s ?

Hi, Tempest 5 ... I think you'll find you have a Mk2 Espace ... 1991 (J plate)- 1997 (P plate).

If it actually is a MK 1 (and at that milage I'm impressed :d the MK1 phase 1&2 were very fragile cars) I'm sure your out of luck as these were fitted with lapbelts in the rear only, and the belts between the MK1 and the MK2 are not interchangable, so you will have problems with the belts.

Assuming it is a MK2, although the style of the seats were changed in 1993, as were the seatbelts, all MK2 seats should fit as the rear used 3 or 5 interchangable seats on predefined floor locations (sliding rails were a MK3 "New Espace" introduction) depending on model and trim level.

Hope it helps :)

seat wiring

Hi, having just rebuilt a written off espace, one of the more annoying things I came across was the front seat wiring which had been modded at some point to eliminate the service light (airbag) problem. If you do get new seats with airbags, take careful note of the wiring connections under the seat - if applicable!
