Laguna III Centre Console Removal

Somehow (no idea how) the satnav control panel on the centre console of my Lag III has managed to drop inside the centre console. Does anyone know how to remove the centre console upper panel so that I can push the satnav switch back into place. I don't think it's possible to get it back otherwise.

Any advice would be welcome.

Problem solved free of charge by a Renault dealer in Germany.

For future reference, the centre console unclips from the inside front edge of the centre armrest. Lift the armrest and put a wide blade screwdriver under each side of the centre console lip. Ease up the console with the screwdriver. The whole console then lifts up from back to front.

Luckily, the satnav control just clipped back not place.

Thanks for the heads up re how to get the centre console out. Loving my Lag tourer. Had it since Christmas week. Only fault it currently has is..

My ashtray wouldn't close. Turned out that the mechanism wasn't lubed up and was sticking. Looking on Autotrader it seems quite a few Laguna 3s suffer from this.

Anyway here is how I got the centre console out.

1. Open the arm rest and use a flat headed screwdriver to gently pop open each side. I used a butter knife with some gaffa tape!

2. Starting towards the back (the armrest end) pop the clips on each side.

3. Remove the wires connected to the parking brake, satnav, cruise control and cigarette lighter. There isn't enough wire to do anything useful so all must be unplugged.

4. Remove the gear stick gaitor. This has 4 clips in each corner and one either side in the middle. Quite fiddly, but it will come out.

5. Carefully remove the sliver cover. It pulls backwards from the dash.

Give it a good clean! Surprised how much was under there especially under the parking brake switch.

If you ashtray wont shut its likely they forgot to put some grease on the locking mechanism. Mine was dry.. greased up it works fine. The replacement one the dealer sent me to fit had loads of grease on it. Will send the new one back!

Refitting is simply the steps above reversed.

Do this at your own risk!
