Preventative maintenance avoids these problems. I have fitted grease nipples on the wiper spindles and greased up the linkages at time of this modification. Renewed the O-rings as found poor allowing water ingress. Piped it all to the engine compartment so there is no need to remove anything. Do a grease pump stroke at each
change. Also fitted grease nipples on the rear calipers. A pump stroke of rubber grease annually and they won't seize up. My motto is: "Grease nipples are better than sliced bread". Got them on my wheel barrow as well. One important point: No point having them unless they are greased regularly.
