cd stacker

a few points to remember with CD stackers, make sure the stacker shares the same protocol as the head unit, they need to talk to each other to function, just because the cable/plugs look the same, doesnt mean a thing, the wiring protocol needs to be the same, example, say a kenwood and an eclipse both have round 8 pin plugs, but say number 3 pin on kenwood is earth, it may be live wire on eclipse, result, bang , sizzle. alpines these day have AI -net , similar to Sony, Clarion have CE-net, some have M bus, some C bus, Pioneer P bus,so be ware, FM modulated sets transmit via the Ariel input, result is sound only as good as FM stereo. these days you can buy an adaptor that fits into your CD stacker plug on the head unit, to your mp3 player headphone socket 3.5mm plug, and enables you to play your MP3 player via that source, result is clear real stereo, these are getting very popular, you can down load from your computa direct to the mp3 player, up to 500 songs on 2GB, thats better than most stackers, and lots cheaper.
