I have now replaced the rear bushes in my laguna. They were in the correct way around but were in a very bad way. One actually fell apart when I removed the axle. see photo below.
The bushes were pattern parts bought off e-bay they were only 12 months/14,000 miles old.
The new ones are genuine Renault and are much better quality. They were also a much tighter fit into the axle (there have been a few threads saying that new bushes were a loose fit in the axle). There are also 2 features on the Renault bushes that are not on the pattern parts. There are raised features on the ouside diameter that meet the axle at the same time that the top face of the bush becomes level with the axle face. This feature prevents the bushes being driven in too far.
The second feature is a rubber bushing inside the centre bolt holes. You can see it on the photo below.
I am normally quite happy to use pattern parts, but in the case of these bushes I would always use the genuine parts.
I hope these new bushes last longer that the last set!
The MOT is due next week so I hope nothing else will need doing.
