Having done the pollen filter on my older and current Scenic I know what you mean but –
You have to get your head right under the dash and use a good light.
You should see a black plastic cover that is approx’ 200mm long x 40mm wide.
It has ribs/webs moulded onto it.
It will have an ‘’Arrow’’ embossed on it.
There will be a fixing - I had a self tapper on one car and a 7mm bolt head on the other.
Undo the fixing and slide the cover in the direction (or opposite) of the arrow
It will fall away and reveal the filter
Pull this down out of its box – you may need pliers to pull it, but be careful as a lot of crap may come out with it – my second car was full of dust/ leaves/muck etc.
I then blew mine out gently with an airline to clear it
Replacement is the opposite of the above
Hope that helps, good luck
I was going to take pictures but it’s difficult to get under there to do it!
