I am not clear here what is the relevance of the thermal fuse. On my car the connections between pack and loom had overheated and were very charred looking and so the pack and loom needed replacing (or bypassing with my cheap repair). Replacing the thermal fuse would not have helped as the poor connections would overheat still, if they were in any fit state to pass any current at all still, which is very doubtful.

If others are finding that just replacing the fuse cures their different type of failure, then what was causing the fuse to blow? If it is blowing due to some other fault then replacing it will be a short term solution. Replacing it with a higher value one is dangerous especially if there is a fault causing it to run hotter than normal.
