Not sure what you're looking for other than loose connections? I take it you can hear it spin up.
Remove the glove box lining - single torx in the centre and clips on the bottom and top edge. Take off the grey cover to the drive slot first. The drive is held in a cage fixed to the inner dash by several torx screws. Be careful of the antennae arial as its very delicate but it sounds like urs may be fubarred anyhow
OF PARAMOUNT IMPORTANCE: NEVER DISCONNECT POWER TO THE DRIVE OR FROM THE BATTERY WITHIN ONE MINUTE OF TURNING OFF THE IGNITION OR YOU WILL NUKE THE NAV COMPUTER WHILE IT SHUTS DOWN. RECONNECT THE BATTERY WITH THE SIDELIGHTS ON AS PRECAUTION AGAINST SPIKES.
thanks will hav a look at that but does the sat nav keep the time clock as ever time i get in the car now hav to reset the clock are is that a nother problem
