If you connect the multi-meter to the wiring of the sensor and spin the wheel it should produce a pulse. The sensor is a
which senses the movement of the reluctor ring.
The problem could be a bad connection to the ABS controller. I ain't sure where it is located on your car but on the Lag II it is behind the left inner wheel arch liner at the front.
The problem with diagnostic equipment is that it can't tell the difference between a duff unit and a poor connection - quite dumb in some respects.
