What effect would disconnecting the battery have upon other electronics in the car, eg. coding for the radio etc.

Is it essential to disconnect the battery if the key card has not been inserted?

Going back to my previous post, just how do I get these connectors apart. There seems to be a plastic clip mechanism on them, but I can't see how it works!

disconnecting the battery will stop the airbags from deploying accidentally. If you are ok with the risk of them deploying and possibly causing injury thats entirely your decision. Disconnecting the battery will cause the cd player to loose the code so you will need it to hand after reconnecting the battery.
