Pretty much, there are exceptions, but they are quite rare and I doubt that you'll find them on a road car especially in that application. The pitch of the thread (the distance between 2 crests on the thread) can vary too, but again, I would expect that as Lag said they will be the more common M6 x 1.0.
They should be fine (providing of course they are long enough), and you'll get no rusty bolts which is a plus
a useful tool, select the thread size of the bolt and it gives you all the relevent dimesions for each type of bolt
