my 53 reg Scenic is going for new tyres, brakes and an MoT tomorrow (which will clear out my bank account but not to worry!).
The place i'm going to is a local guy i've used for years through many different cars, who is very trustworthy and has reasonable prices, however he is not a main dealer affiliated to any manufacturer, (its actually a tyre and exhaust place who goes a bit further - he did my head gasket on my laguna a few years back for £400 vs Reg vardys £1200 quote)
when i was booking my MoT the other day he asked me if I wanted him to do a full service, as I am only 1000 miles short of my 54,000 mile service and he's doing half the stuff anyway, hence I may as well get a stamp in the book.
I'm OK with this, cos I trust the guy - he had a go at me (in a nice way) a couple of years back cos i'd paid evans halshaw silly money for the 36000 mile service which he would have done for less than half.
so anyway, onto my questions:
1. Does anyone know of where I can get a service schedule for the Renault Scenic 54,000 mile service online? I just want to check what renault say should be covered in this service.
2. Secondly, by getting this service done at a none renault dealer, i'm guessing he'll stamp my book, but won't be able to reset the 'next service due' piece on my trip computer - does anyone know of a way i can get this done without having to pay a renault dealer? i imagine a renault dealer won't touch it unelss they get the service work anyway.....
hope someone can help anyway, thanks!
