Ignore those petrol owning nancies they don't know what they're talking about

But seriously renault added an extended warranty to the 1.9s at 5 years and 90k miles (must have FSH) because of the number of turbo failures. When they go they have a nasty habit of taking out ancilliaries like the intercooler and EGR and sometimes the engine on a full runaway - you can't stall it with the start button so have to put it in 6th and stamp on the brake.

Having said that, most failures were due to turbo abuse and the long original service interval. You'll need full synth oil changes at least every 9k miles plus regular EGR cleans to keep it from exploding. Keep an eye on the oil level and either side of the pipework on the turbo for signs of failing seals; don't ignore a smoky exhaust. If you have a warranty for the first year of ownership that should insure against the previous owner being a dumb@ss and reving it from cold or shutting it off hot, and the frankly terrifying 18k semi synth oil change

With these what are reasonable turbo ownership guidelines your derv renault should give decent service.

Also, in my experience avoid any work from the stealerships, they're thieves and likely don't do any of the work they say they do
