After reading all these "nonstarting" threads, I get more'n more greatfull, whenever the car actually drives

I have the same starting problem, (starter turne, but no ignition.) but often with a little difference, the engine actually runs for 2 sec. before cutting out.

If it runs after 5 sec. it never stalls, so that should rule out the TDC . (I guess)

So far I get the car going again by removing the posetive cable from the battery for about 10 sec. and it always start afterwards!

Normally when I disconnect the battery, I can hear a rely clicking, so I assume that the system has a sort of time-out, (lot of threads mention 10-20 min. before they can start again.) which I bypass by my shortcut.

I'm going to try the spare key trick.

Would you agree it sounds as if i'm experienceing a immobiliser problem?

I get the feeling that all garages as per standard says " TDC sensor" , when there's a starting problem, no matter what the error turns out to be in the end.
