Ok, looks like its all sorted, it was a combination of a bad earth on a rear cluster and a fuse.

Turns out that one of the fuses looks after the left hand side lights (front/rear) and the instrument panel.. changed that and its ok, then put an earh strap on l/h rear cluster.

If I knew they worked off the one fuse I woulda worked it out sooner, lol god bless Mr Haynes and his manuals!

One thing I have noticed now though... (oh god I know) when I turn the key to the warm-up position as it is a diesel, I get a strange noise under the bonnet which stops after a few seconds, like a clicking kind of sound, not sure if its on the back of something I done while repairing lights or whether I just noticed it cos I had the bonnet up... just seems funny.

Anyone else had this or is it the norm?

Thanks people
