A bit of lube in the lock mechanism from time to time might be well worth while, especially if the car has only one keyed entry point.
I have found that Comma's white grease works fine. It is the water resistant type. Comes in a spray can with a short and a long nozzle.
I would agree Tolsen - I put a large blob of the stuff on top as its hidden by the cover anyway. But it also pays to check it now and again as its rarely the lock tumblers that stick but the retainingg clip inside that comes adrift
